Hi! Welcome back to day 2 of garden birds. Today I am going to be talking about the dunnock, or prunella modularis.
This grey-and-brown bird may seem dull; but it is still a welcome visitor to my garden. I love the contrast between it's dark body and bright pink legs. It is a ground feeder like the robin; but is very shy and will prefer it if there is suitable vegetation to hide in.
It is often seen in small groups and actually has a beautiful song if you are lucky enough to hear it! Otherwise it's alarm and contact call is more of a stiih!
Hope you enjoyed this, come back tomorrow to learn about a group of small birds who are regular garden visitors! Bye! :)
I can't wait for tomorrow :D :)🐦🦇
